09. The Girl in the Shell
Armor, Gundam Style. From the first time I encountered Hisako Ichiki in Astonishing X-men, I wanted to see her armor manifest as either a Gundam, Unit-02, or a GIANT ASTRO BOY. I was gonna draw all three, but turns out giant robots are FREAKY HARD TO DRAW, so let’s all try to be content with the RX-78-2 and hope I never have to draw another one of these ever again.

MARCH IS THE MONTH OF MARVELS! One new character from the Marvel Multiverse every day. To kick it off I give you… Magik. Badass younger sister of Colossus, sometime Demon Queen to the malefic hordes of Limbo, occasional Dark Goddess of the Phoenix Force. Always fearsome to behold.
This image ended up being a little more J-horror than I’d expected, but that’s what I get for continuing to dress the X-men in prep school uniforms.
