Better late than never! Here’s my Akira fan art! It’s Tetsuoooo! I had to watch the movie again, and I’m glad that I did. Last time I saw it, I was pretty little! I didn’t remember how dark and gritty it is. Really, the only image that stuck with me over the years was Tetsuo growing large and out of control. But… I thought I’d draw him keeping his cool. ;)
It’s Kaneeeeedaaaaaaaaa!!!! I watched the anime again to get myself into the mood for some fanarts. It was such a struggle to draw the bike in this ONE view that my mind does a bunch of mini explosions whenever I watch the amazing drag races on film. Epic to the extreme. I also really dug the animated light effects streaking around so tried to capture the feel of that here.
Damn, haven’t posted in a few fridays, but I couldn’t pass up on contributing something to an Akira Fanart Friday!

Akira, one of the first EPIC animes i viewed. It caused an entire phase of violent/tragic, message filled comic creations in highschool.
Love it.
I believe the dialogue for this is image goes something like: ” TETSUOOOOOOOO~”
Because of AKIRA, I resigned as the brash, charismatic leader of a violent teen biker gang and went to animation school.
